Welcome to Pain Politics and my quest to reduce pain, improve lives, and remove the political barriers to accessing palliative medicines and treatments.

Politics is all about "who gets what, when, and how," but when it comes to people in pain, they get very little. I want to change that, so I created a website and YouTube channel to help improve lives and politics by identifying problems and exploring solutions -- often with a large dose of satire.

I am a political scientist, researcher, and reformer with a Ph.D. in American politics, a humorist with a law degree, and a humanitarian with a passion for reducing unnecessary human pain and suffering, health justice, and using the arts to bring about positive reform.

I have worked as a professor, a national pain fellow and policy scholar, a research fellow in Switzerland, an advocate for balanced drug control policies, a podcast and video host and producer, author, invited speaker, consultant, legislative aide, defense attorney, prosecutor, an investigator for the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, and a comedy pitch writer.

I am also a foodie interested in exploring how food can help relieve pain and reduce inflammation (especially peppers, a fruit/vegetable that contains capsaicin), and would likely benefit from adult supervision whenever electricity or combustible materials are involved.

Please subscribe below AND on YouTube!

Less pain. More humor. Better politics.

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”
